No-Limit Texas Holdem is the calling card of world poker and the most popular format in the PPPoker app. And right beside it, its young relative is rapidly gaining momentum - 6+, also known as short deck: the same Holdem, but with a twist.
In 6+ the low cards (twos through fives) are removed, leaving a 36-card deck. This completely changes the math of every hand and leads to fascinating situations - for example, a flush now beats a full house!
Another peculiarity: 6+ has no classic blinds. Everyone posts an ante, and the player on the button additionally posts a blind of the same size. The result is more action in every single hand.
Beginner tip
Moving from classic Holdem to 6+, adjust your ranges: drawing hands get stronger while pairs and top pairs become more vulnerable. Play your first sessions more cautiously until you get used to the new dynamics.
Omaha: Four and Five Cards

Hi/Lo is the newest addition to the Omaha family in the PPPoker app. In this variation the pot is split in half: one half goes to the best high hand, the other to the best low hand (eight or better).
This mechanic adds a new strategic dimension to every hand: the perfect outcome is a "scoop" - winning both halves of the pot with a single hand. Hands that work both ways (like A-2 with flush potential) are worth their weight in gold here.
Good to know
The low half of the pot is only awarded if a player can make a combination of five unpaired cards ranked eight or lower. If nobody qualifies for low, the entire pot goes to the high hand.
